Bedroom Retreat

Can't Get Away?
As soon as the kiddos are in bed… escape into your own getaway retreat (in your bedroom).
  1. Declutter. Spend a few minutes and sort through piles of clothes and paper. You don't have to go nuts here, you just want to make sure you're not staring at a pile of laundry that you'll focus on! *ideally the day before
  2. Make your bed but make it special! Change your sheets and pillowcases, add comfy plush cushions (steal a few from the living room). Spray your sheets, pillows, curtains and the air with a linen spray. Not only can a pleasant scent boost your mood, but it also has the potential to relax the mind.
  3. Lighting: Turn overhead lights off and use candles instead! Too dark? Add a few non-scented tapers or tea lights.
  4. Make sure you have your favorite hot drink on hand (+ snacks if you’re a snacker like me!)
  5. Choose a few beauty masks and treatments you've been meaning to try - don’t forget comfy socks or slippers!
  6. I like to wind down by putting on my earbuds, sleeping mask and listening to one of Tara Brach’s meditations.
Dedicating a few nights a week focusing on myself this way has been a lifesaver! Hope you’ll give it a try. - M
