Our carafe looks handsome at any bedside, desk, or use as your everyday water bottle. Indigenous cultures have been drinking water out of copper vessels for centuries, taking advantage of its antimicrobial properties.
Copper has natural antimicrobial and sanitizing properties and is a powerful anti-oxidant. Also known in natural medicine systems for its anti-inflammatory properties (relieving joint pain and arthritis). Ancient civilizations exploited the antimicrobial properties of copper by utilizing copper vessels for purifying their drinking water, allowing water to remain in copper overnight or at least six hours for best effects. Copper is food safe for water and non acidic foods.

Care: Thoroughly clean the inside of the carafe before its first use. We recommend a mixture of baking soda and vinegar. One may choose to either leave their copper carafe with a natural patina or to polish it. A patina protects the metal from corrosion, but if you prefer for your carafe to maintain its shine and brilliance we recommend using traditional methods such as using a mixture of abrasive (salt, sugar or baking soda) and an acidic liquid (lemon). We recommend polishing with a polishing cloth or an old white t-shirt. You can also polish the surfaces with a soft cloth and beeswax.
